FA fined West Ham for repeated breaches of anti-doping procedures

The club accepted a charge saying the errors were administrative in nature, after three whereabouts violations in one year.

Players should be avaialable for testing by anti-doping control officers, according to the FA rules.
A West Ham spokesperson said:”The club accepts the charge and we will try to tighten our procedures to avoid this again.”
“Violation of administrative deficiencies in the FA system where, for example, a player’s address was registered and the number of house numbers had been transposed.”

“We would like to repeat that the breach was an administrative matter of the club and did not bother any of our players.”

Meantime, due to a knee injury, West Ham defender Winston Reid is expected to miss the rest of the season.

The absence of New Zealand’s 29-year-old would be a big blow to West Ham’s bid to stay in the Premier League.

For the first time Reid played in almost two months at Swansea City on Saturday, but was replaced after 27 minutes by right-back Sam Byram .

Due to the knee problem Byram may also lose the rest of the campaign.
