Gennady Golovkin declares that he always suspected that Canelo Alvarez used drugs

He said that he knew that Alvarez was taking steroids, because he could see needle marks on his muscles.

Alvarez resulted positive in 2 drugs tests by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association. However the Mexican boxer will not receive any suspension. He was found guilty for using the substance clenbuterol, but still this will not have any effect on his rematch with Golovkin on May 5.

Alvarez insists that the contaminated meat caused the failed tests. The tainted meat defense has also been used before by Mexican fighters. It seems that Alvarez has also received the full backing of the WBC and WBA.

Still Golovkin insists on his claim that Canelo’s team are using these drugs and everybody’s trying to pretend it’s not happening.
