Recap
Last game of first round of Serbian Super league will be played on Monday, due to the rematch of Spartak side vs Coleraine, which they will play away at Northern Ireland on Thursday (first game 1:1).
New season Spartak will enters with new coach, Vladimir Gacinovic, who was assistant coach to Aleksandar Veselinovic, their coach from last season who left the club to be head coach of Vojvodina. For the club’s president, Dragan Simovic, that was shocking decision but he thin that his club will be much experienced now after that hard decision. My opinion is that they will be weaker side now, coach Veselinovic is modern and talented coach and under him they have played very nice attacking football which resulted that they have been on 4th place and they are playing now qualifications for EL. New coach will continue to use same formation and Spartak will play in 4-2-3-1 formation. Spartak has lost couple of important players in this transfer window like striker Nikolic (moved to Partizan), right back Stojkovic moved to Vojvodina and couple of reserve players like Pantic (mc), Petrov (winger) and Dieng (winger) has been released from the club. In Spartak there are 10 new players, and most noticeable from them are: striker Djenic (arrived from Zemun), Afum (arrived from Swiss league), left back Milosevic (from Crvena Zvezda), goalkeeper Peric (from Vojvodina), Marcic (from Javor), and very talented attacking midfielder Milic (17 years) who came from Jagodina where he was far best player. The coach said that even many important players have left the club, their ambitions will be the same in new season, they want to be in top 8 clubs and also, their youth squad is very good and this year they have promoted a few best players from it and they will get their chance in the first team.
On the opposite side, team Macva was not so active in this transfer window so far and they will enter in new season with their old coach, Dragan Anicic. In this transfer window, they have lost couple of important players, like their top goal scorer Matic (moved to Seul, South Korea), their first team goalkeeper Filipovic moved to TSC (Serbian first league) and first team midfielder Milinkovic moved to Uzbekistan first league. My opinion is that they will be much weaker this season and if they don’t find replacements for these players I think that they will be in battle for relegation. New players in the club are Vicic (came from Crvena Zvezda youth squad and Ivkovic (from Teleoptik) and I think that they are not good replacements for players who have left the club. In new season they will play in same formation as in the last season, and that is 4-2-3-1 formation. Good news for coach Anicic is that all his players are fit for the first game of the season and he will have a strongest team at his disposal.
In autumn part of the season, Spartak will not play at their stadium at Subotica as he is under reconstruction because his stands and pitch was in really bad condition. They will play their games as host at near town Kula, at stadium Hajduk, capacity 6000 places which is in solid condition. That will be a big lost for Spartak because they have very humble fans base and with this move, they will not have almost any support in their home games. Last season, these teams played three times, in league games, Spartak won as host 3:2, while Macva won as a host too 1:0. Third game was the cup game where Macva had more luck in penalty shootout because in regular and in extra time it was tight (1:1). My opinion is that Spartak is stronger side than Macva but due to the new coach, and long trip to Northern Ireland it is possible that the coach will rest some first team players and with that Macva will have some chances in this game.
